6 unforgettable things I did during my wife’s first three months of pregnancy

Every husband has different experiences and stories to tell during his wife’s first three months of pregnancy. As I recall my own experience, I can say that it was exciting and a challenging time for me. Let me share these unforgettable experiences:

1. My wife totally hates the smell of a cooked noodles. If she does, she will vomit and get sick. In opposite, I like noodles a lot. The only time I can cook and eat noodles is when she is sleeping and I make it sure that the door of our bedroom is close, so she will not be able to smell it while I am cooking.

2. Every time I go to the market, she expects me to buy the following things:

  • bananacue (fried banana coated with melted brown sugar)
  • green and sour mango fruit
  • pineapple
  • a ripe papaya that is crunchy
  • oranges
  • Fuji apple

3. There were times that she ask me this question,”Am I getting big?” If I say ‘yes’, she will make a face, but if I say ‘no’, she will smile and tell me, “I can still wear jeans.”

4. I always give her a back massage before going to bed. It makes her feel relax and reduce the pain of her back.

5. She does not want me to put food seasoning everytime I cook sauté vegetables. If I did, she will not eat it.

6. We never missed a day to eat ‘malunggay’ vegetables. She believes that this is the one of the most nutrient green leafy vegetables to be eaten by a pregnant woman.

According to the doctor and to the books that I read, the first three months of a woman’s pregnancy is the critical stage. Many things can happen during these three months like miscarriage or abnormal development of the baby.

My wife and I were so thankful because she passed this first stage of pregnancy without any problems. As her husband, her pregnancy made me more closer to her, understand her, and appreciate this so called ‘miracle of life.’

How about you? Do you have any stories to tell?
